Presentation on glass in heart's catalogue
The pieces of Franco Losvizzero talk about a journey in the innerbody toward the place inside of us where we see ourselves reflected in a mirror. This is the journey in the memories that the artists starts every time he creates, especially when drawing. The gesture of the child and the uncontrolled gestures show the path, first aesthetic, then transcendental. Meditation and relaxation techniques open the way to a ’very large container of knowledge, to intuition that pass through it since millennia’ … So ancestral symbols and images mix up with contemporary suggestions and through the magic of venetian glass, transfer the sound and signs of ‘the child that lives inside me … that lives inside us’.
Biography: After a degree in painting from the Rome Academy of Fine Artz (Accademia si Belle Arti di Roma) under the supervision of master Sandro Trotti, Losvizzero engages into photography and receives a diploma from the European Institute of Design in Rome.
Drawing, oil painting and subsequently
sculptures are the basis
of his artistic exploration. In 1996
Losvizzero moves to London to
improve and continues his education
at the Thames Valley University;
in that period he starts
to spend some periods of time in
New York.
During the frequent trips to the
USA a deep transformation of his
work takes place.
By studying the pieces by Bruce
Nauman, of pop artists and Bacon
he starts the exploration of
the unconscious, started in parallel
by the artist through courses
of autogenous training, Stanislavskij
method performing and
psico-philosophical disciplines.
Sculptures, robot, mechanisms,
installations and painting show
without filters the dreamlike visions
of this young artist.
In 1998 he awarded a study grant
at the Atlantic Center for Arts in Florida.
He is also selected as
one of the six Italian artists selected
for an exchange program
between Italy and Egypt to work
for six months at an exposition at
the Academy of Arts of Luxor.
In 2000 he funds the Biennale of
conteporary art in Porto Ercole,
which is afterwards moved to Castel
Sant’Angelo in Rome at the
fifth edition under the new name
of Biennale in TRANSito.
He is engaged in directing short
movies, videoclips 2 documentaries
and 2 films.
Since 2006 he started to realize
his first pieces in Murano glass
which reach in some cases 3
meters of height.

Le opere di Andrea Bezziccheri, alias Franco Losvizzero raccontano di un viaggio nel corpo-inconscio per giungere nelle profondità, dove la visione di sé si riflette, come in uno specchio. Questo è il viaggio nella memoria che l’artista compie ogni volta che crea, soprattutto col disegno. Il tratto dell’infanzia e la gestualità incontrollata mostrano un percorso, prima che estetico, trascendentale. Tecniche di meditazione e di rilassamento aprono ad un “contenitore molto più grande del suo sapere, ad intuizioni che l’attraversano da millenni”... E’ così che simboli e immagini ancestrali si mischiano con suggestioni contemporanee e, tramite la magia del vetro veneziano, trasmettono suoni e tratti del “bambino che mi abita... che ci abita...” Biografia: Andrea Bezziccheri, alias Franco Losvizzero, è nato nel 1973 a Roma. Dopo il liceo scientifico e la laurea in pittura all’ Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma con il maestro Trotti, si dedica alla fotografia, diplomandosi all’Istituto Europeo di Design di Roma.
Il disegno, la pittura ad olio e successivamente
la scultura sono
alla base della sua ricerca artistica.
Nel 1996 si trasferisce a
Londra per approfondire gli studi
presso la Thames Valley University,
inizia inoltre a soggiornare
di frequente a New York. Sono
proprio i numerosi viaggi negli
Usa che contribuiscono a dare
una profonda svolta al suo lavoro.
In particolare lo studio delle
opere di Bruce Nauman, degli
artisti della pop art americana e
di Bacon lo inducono ad indagare
l’inconscio, percorso intrapreso
parallelamente dall’artista attraverso
corsi di training autogeno, training di
recitazione con Metodo Stanislavskij
e discipline psico-filosofiche.
Sculture, robot, meccanismi, installazioni
e quadri presentano
senza filtri le visioni oniriche di
questo giovane artista.
Nel 1998 vince una borsa di studio
per l’Atlantic Center for the
Arts, in Florida. Viene anche
scelto come uno dei sei artisti
italiani per uno scambio Italia-Egitto
all’Accademia di Belle Arti
di Luxor, dove lavora per sei mesi
ad una mostra negli spazi dell’Accademia.
Nel 2000 fonda la Biennale di Arte
Contemporanea di Porto Ercole,
che dopo le prime quattro edizioni
decide di spostare a Roma, a Castel
Sant’Angelo, trasformandola
in Biennale in TRANSito.
È impegnato nella regia cinematografica
con diversi cortometraggi,
videoclip, 3 documentari
e 2 film (tutti pluripremiati).
Dal 2006 inizia ad eseguire le sue
prime opere in vetro di Murano
fino ad arrivare a realizzare sculture
in vetro che superano i tre
metri di altezza con 4 diverse collezioni.
